Safety Committee

The Safety Committee helps ABA member companies reduce their worker's compensation claims. This is accomplished through a variety of functions including:
  • Assist ABA members that have high losses
  • Bring members and association management together to lower the losses of the group
  • Review loss reports and identify members that need help in reducing their loss ratios
  • Identify workplace hazards and assist in their elimination
  • Review safety and health survey reports of the member- make recommendations for improvement
  • Help the member establish procedures for investigating all safety-related accidents and incidents

The Safety Committee benefits all members of the ABA by:

  • Improving the association loss ratio
  • Improving the members' loss ratio
  • Improving productivity and quality
  • Improve safety communication
  • Reducing direct and indirect costs

Members of the Safety Committee have the following duties and functions:

  • Evaluate member's safety and health programs
  • Make written recommendations to members
  • Establish procedures for workplace inspections
  • Evaluate member's accountability system
  • Hazard identification
  • Accident analysis
